So, here's the basic plot of the movie:
Three rich couples take a vacation together on a cruise from Greece to Italy. One of the wives, Amber (although her name is barely ever mentioned, so it's kind of hard to tell), is a rich bitch (should've been funnier than it was from that alone) who torments the fisherman, Pepe (who constantly tells the kitchen staff and captain that he is "going to kill the Rich Bitch" one way or another). Well, anyways, the two, of course, get stranded on a deserted island, where they have trouble coexisting. After a while, however, their fierce hatred of eachother turns into a passionate attraction.
Now, here's what iTunes and Wikipedia don't tell you:
The sick fuck basically abuses her, slapping her every time she bitches, kicking her on multiple occasions to get her going, makes her wait on him hand and foot, and, in one scene, practically rapes her. And she, actually likes almost getting raped.
Now, the reaction on the imdb boards seems to be split between loving the movie and hating it. Explain to me how some people say this is one of the funniest, greatest movies of all time (no joke, some people think that) when it lacked decent acting, witty dialogue, and a basic regard for The-Places-You-Do-Not-Go-Even-In-Movie-Making. It's basically some sick fuck's fantasy of raping women with no consequences, and having them like it.
I mean, I know I'm a feminist(-ish), but c'mon, nobody with a basic set of morals could like this movie. It's awful.
Now, admittedly, I didn't get past an hour (which is actually better than most of the people who hated it on imdb - one person said it only took ten minutes), but even if the last half hour was amazing, the best movie ever made, it wouldn't make up for the way Madonna's character is treated. It's just fucking awful (and yes, I will say that several times whenever I describe this movie, guaranteed).
However, if anybody has seen this movie and does not think it's just some sick fuck's self-insert fantasy, please, share your reasoning with me. Believe it or not, I don't aim to hate things.
